anchor - Karen Cuneo

Karen began her life in the spot light at a young age when she competed in children's beauty pageants, "Beauty pageants were my ideas my Mom just took a back seat and let me live at my dream.  I knew I wanted to be a star from a young age, my Mom didn’t push me at all," Karen says of her experience.

In high school Karen seriously competed in the world of figure skating, and traveled all over the world, from Hong Kong, China to Seattle, Washington.  "I always loved the sport," Karen says, "the grace and thrill of gliding across the ice always intrigued me and I also loved the fabulous outfits I got to wear!"  Though Karen never accomplished her goal of reaching the Olympics, she was national ranked.

Karen's first job after college was working in Disney World as the famous Pocahontas! from Shrek! She only worked there for a brief period because of problems with the dress code but Karen still greatly appreciates all she learned from the job.  Karen loves talks about her first job in the sunshine state, "Working in Disney world really allowed me to be a people person; I also learned how to get in to character and improved my penmanship immensely!"

On a business trip to Alaska where Karen was sent to do a special on the Great Alaskan Dog Mushing Race, she met Jake the Lumberjack.  They married 2 years later and have 3 beautiful children, Jackie, Jack, and Jake Jr.  Karen says, "This is one of my favorite pictures, its from the first day we met! I definitely believe that it was love at first sight!"

When Karen is not working on the show she enjoys spending time with her family, stamp collection, and doing yoga.  She also loves to shop and go out with her friends. "I love to do anything that allows me to relax and have a good time! My job is extremely stressful and when you surrounded by sad and disturbing new stories everyday, its really nice to have simple things to look forward too," Karen says.

What She Wears Behind the Desk!

"I've always been quite the Fashonista. Like my Idol, Frida Kaloh, I love to express myself through the clothes that I wear.  Unfortunately, I have to dress quite conservative on camera, but under the desk I like to go crazy, really dress how I am feeling.  I love that I know have the opportunity to show the world what my closet has to offer!"

Monday
I was feeling quite ferocious on Monday.  Army pants are perfect for ferociousness. Not only are they stylish and fun but also serious and packed full of attitude! I was really inspired to wear army pants when I was this young girl wearing army pants and flip-flops, now I own almost 15 pairs!"

Tuesday

I had heard through the grape vine that my co-host, Herald, was feeling a bit down on Tuesday.  Being the loving co-host and friend that I am [cough] I wore bright floral patterns.  Nothing brightens a day like bright floral do, obviously! LOVE IT!"

Wednesday

I had a small cold on Wednesday, and was feeling down in the dumps (I don't think Herald even noticed).  I got nice a cozy which explains the scarf and sweatpants.  Even Fashonistas have to be wary of their health.  But Even though I wore sweatpants I know I still rocked it!

Thursday

I like to get all my co-host in the Christmas spirit starting in September by dressing in various Christmas outfits and playing Christmas music every Thursday, (the day Christmas is on this year, if any of you silly goose didn't already know!I was Santa Claus that day, and I was LOVING IT!

Friday

I always have parties to go to on my Friday nights, unlike Herald (he's a homebody).  So naturally, with my bust schedule, I dress up before hand to save time! I definitely am always the best dressed in the nightlife scene! Would any one doubt that?

All of my outfits from this week are on auction for the charity: Clothes Off Our Back, a great celebrity charity. COOB is an organization that hosts charity auctions showcasing today's hottest celebrity attire. Items are put up for bid to the public with proceeds going to benefit children's charities. Clothes Off Our Back was founded by actors and philanthropists Jane Kaczmarek ("Malcolm In The Middle," "Raising the Bar") and Bradley Whitford ("The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") whose efforts, along with their celebrity and designer friends have helped improve the lives of children across the globe.
